Bokashi composting uses a selected group of microorganisms to anaerobically ferment organic waste. The microorganisms are applied using an impregnation carrier such as rice or wheat bran. The fermentation process breaks down the organic matters with very minimum odor. Since the process is done in a closed system, there will be no worry about insects and smells. This makes it ideal for urban or business settings. Unlike other composting systems, the VermiTek Bokashi systems can break down items like meat, fish and dairy products.
